Energy is important because we use it every day. We use energy for transportation. We use oil and natural gas for heating our houses.
We also use electricity to power our factories, home appliances and electronics.
We don't always use energy in a smart way, though. Some people leave their lights on at night or their televisions on when they sleep. It would be better if we were wise and not wasteful.
We need to stop using as much oil.
We also need to find different kinds of energy that we can use to power our houses and cars. Solar energy, wind energy, wave energy, and water or hydro energy are renewable sources that don't cause pollution.
